K-Drama fans know that 2016 was the glorious year for the Korean drama. With the likes of the Descendants of the Sun, Legend of the Blue Sea, Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, and Goblin, there was no shortage of excellent dramas during that year!
Now, we’re already in the middle of 2018 but there isn’t a lot of hype about this year’s dramas. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t any good shows, though. Some of them aren’t finished yet and a lot of people just don’t want to watch until the series is complete.
But to some who like to enjoy the ride, watch the drama right after the subtitles have been added (sometimes, people watch the raw version!), and then ponder on what’s next, here are some of the ongoing dramas we recommend:
Suits is the South Korean version of a US drama of the same title. It’s about Go Yeon-Woo (Park Hyung-Sik) who has a photographic memory. He dreams of becoming a lawyer someday but whatever he does, he couldn’t quite reach that dream. Enter Choi Kang-Seok (Jang Dong-Gun), the best lawyer at the Kang and Ham Law Firm. Kang-Seok hired Yeon-Woo even though he isn’t really a lawyer.
Even if you are not a lawyer or have no plans on becoming one, this drama is a good way to stimulate your brain. The mind games are insane.
The drama has already been completed, but we’re not sure if there will be another season, as the original is still ongoing. Let’s wait and see.

Rich Man, Poor Woman
Rich Man, Poor Woman is another remake, this time of a Japanese series with the same title. It’s about Lee Yoo-Chan (Kim Junmyeon or EXO’s Suho), a CEO of an IT company, who’s arrogant and untrusting, and Kim Bo-Ra (Ha Yeon-Soo), the pride of Jeju Island. Yoo-Chan suffers from a condition wherein he cannot remember people’s faces. Hence, the mistrust. Will he remember Bo-Ra’s face? Watch to find out!

Are You Human Too?
If you are into sci-fi, this drama is definitely for you. The drama tells a story of a mother whose son fell into a coma after an accident. Oh Ro Ra, a genius on brain technology and artificial intelligence, created an android version of her son, Nam Shin (Seo Kang Joon). They managed to hide the truth from their family and friends, but then things became complicated when Nam Shin, the android, started falling in love with his bodyguard, Kang So Bong (Kong Seung-Yeon). How is that possible for a robot? But, you know, anything is plausible in Korean drama. Plus, we’re suckers for romance so we’re probably okay with it.

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?
If you are not into the heavy drama, this could be the right series for you. The drama is about Kim Mi-So (Park Min Young), a reliable secretary working for the handsome, rich, and arrogant vice president of a large company, Lee Young-Joon (Park Seo Joon). The problem starts when Mi-So decides to quit her job.

We’re throwing this drama in the mix so you can have something to watch while waiting for the other dramas to finish. Radio Romance is about an assistant radio program writer, Song Geu-Rim (Kim So-Hyun), who’s not a very good writer. When her radio program DJ suddenly decided to leave Korea, she lost her job. A PD who just came back from vacation told her to persuade an actor, Ji Soo-Ho (Yoon Doo-Joon), to be her DJ. If she manages to make him say yes, she will have her job back. Through her enthusiasm, she made him accept the job.
